What to see in Canary Islands
Tenerife is the most popular island of the archipelago for tourism. It is full of hotels and clubs and is towered over by the Teide, the highest peak in all of Spain. Gran Canaria is less crowded than Tenerife, but is rich in natural reserves; instead Fuerteventura, El Hierro and Lanzarote have preserved their wild appearance. La Palma and La Gomera are the greenest, cloaked in pristine forests that make them authentic paradises.
Best beaches
Thanks to the winds sweeping over the island, Fuerteventura is the ideal destination for surfers. Sotavento and El Cotillo are the most fascinating beaches. Instead in Gran Canaria, Las Canteras is a must-see, as it is one of the most beautiful city beaches in Europe. Don't miss Guigui Beach, a temple for nature lovers. The clear, calm waters of Maceta are the most fascinating in El Hierro, while in Tenerife Charco Azul and the Martianes pools stand out. Those who love wild places must visit Lanzarote, and in particular El Golfo and Playa de Famara.
