Getting around Fuerteventura

Flights to Fuerteventura land at the airport of the same name, which is the only one on the island. Once there, you can travel among the towns with the island buses. Lines 3, 10 and 16 stop at the airport as well as various points on the island. The island is well served by various bus lines. Another way to freely get around is to hire a car.

Fuerteventura boasts many beautiful beaches, all much loved by locals and visitors. One of them is the very long golden beach of El Cotillo, adored by surfers. Then there's the beach of Morro Jable, which is part of a protected natural area. Gran Tarajal Beach is instead famous for its black sand, as well as Las Playitas. Sotavento also has a particular aspect, given that it is made up of many small lagoons you can safely walk among. The isolated and beautiful Playa de Cofete is loved by many for its dreamlike landscapes.
