What to see
The island has many locations of cultural interest, particularly in the capital Kos Town and its surroundings: the Castle of the Knights, the Roman Theatre, the archaeological site Asklepieion, the characteristic village Platáni, the village of Pýli, the Basilica of Agios Stefanos in Kefalos and the natural thermal park of Embros. A varied combination of history, art and well-being which you can combine with excursions to small nearby islands, such as the beautiful Nissiros, where there are natural springs of healing thermal water.
The best beaches of Kos
The beaches of Kos all have fine sand and crystal-clear waters, and can satisfy any desire. For example on the northern coast Tigaki Beach is ideal for everyone, including families, thanks to its shallow waters, but is also perfect for sports such as sailing and windsurfing. Marmari is another such example with golden sand and calm waters. Other popular beaches near Kos are Lambì and Psalidì. The southern coast instead offers beaches with a wilder but equally beautiful atmosphere, such as Magic Beach and Paradise Beach.
