Getting around Canada

Flights to Canada depart from Milan Malpensa and land at the Canada Pearson International Airport. Once you arrive at your destination, there are several ways to travel to the city. The first option, which is the one most used by travellers, involves a trip on the Union Pearson Express: a fast train that takes only 25 minutes to reach Canada's Union Station. From the airport it is also possible to take a taxicab; the journey, depending on traffic, takes about thirty minutes. The city of Canada itself is well-connected by various services: Canadian public transport is the cheapest and easiest way to get around Canada. The extensive network of buses and trams allows travellers to move independently and smoothly between one attraction and another.

What to visit in Canada

As we have already mentioned, there are many things to see in Canada during a journey of discovery through North America. The majestic Niagara Falls are one of the country's most iconic attractions. They are located just over an hour's drive from Toronto, along the US border. From several vantage points, it is possible to see the roaring power of the falls at close range. Toronto itself, the capital of Ontario, is another must-visit destination in Canada. It is the largest city in the country and also one of the most modern, full of memorable attractions. Banff National Park is located in the heart of the majestic Rocky Mountains, in the western province of Alberta, and offers a series of breathtaking sceneries: you can divide your time between turquoise lakes, snow-capped peaks and wide open spaces.

Another beautiful place to visit in Canada is Montréal, the second-largest French-speaking city in the world. The old part of Montréal, with its beautiful Victorian-era buildings, offers the delightful atmosphere of a Parisian-style neighbourhood. Vancouver Island is also a spectacular destination: its forest of giant trees - some of which are up to a thousand years old - offers an unforgettable experience. Where to eat

From a historical point of view, Canada has been traversed by all kinds of cultures, and the concept of fusion cuisine is very much alive in the country. It is also possible to find many revisited dishes of traditional French cuisine, especially in Montréal. One of Canada's traditional dishes is poutine, which can be found almost everywhere. Also worth trying is maple syrup - which is an institution in Canada - and the delicious cherry pie, which in some ways is very reminiscent of those in US diners. In the larger cities, one can find all sorts of gastronomic offerings, from London-style pubs to Asian cuisine venues to craft breweries and starred restaurants.
