Places of interest
Montego Bay is a true paradise overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Beginning in the city centre, where characteristic corners, typical restaurants and shops abound, visitors should move towards the north coast, where the splendid Georgian Villa, Rose Hall stands, among the most characteristic buildings on the island. It dates back to the eighteenth century and is located on a panoramic point along the coast. Its fame is mainly due to the legend of the White Witch: according to some, the owner of the villa, Annie Palmer, killed many of her lovers then hid their bodies in unnamed tombs. While only mere legend, many claim to have noticed mysterious presences wandering in the rooms of this ancient dwelling.
Best beaches
One of Montego Bay's most popular beaches is Doctor's Cave beach, famous for the presence of the cave from which therapeutic waters flow. Nearby there are plenty of places to have fun until dawn, naturally to the rhythm of reggae music. Don't miss Cornwall Beach and the Marine Park, a protected area that includes part of the northern coast. Snorkelling grants visitors an exciting opportunity to discover the tropical fish and an enchanting coral reef.
