How to get around

All direct flights to Cancun will land at the international airport, 16 kilometres from the city. Getting to Cancun from the airport is quite easy, thanks to the variety of solutions available. These include taxis and private shuttles provided by the resorts. In any case, the best option is the convenient and cheap ADO company buses (direct buses leave every 30 minutes and tickets only cost 3.40 euros).

Places of interest

One of the most picturesque places in Cancun is Isla Mujeres, with particular reference to Punta Sur, an authentic paradise just a short distance from the city. It is a large cliff overlooking the sea, surrounded by rich vegetation and turquoise waters. Nature lovers must stop at the Nichupté Lagoon, which extends over almost 3,000 hectares and is home to mangrove forests and wild animals such as leopards, crocodiles and iguanas. History enthusiasts, on the other hand, must visit El Rey, an ancient Mayan city, and El Meco, an archaeological site dominated by Castillo, a completely intact step pyramid.

Cancun is a vibrant city that is full of life. The best restaurants include are the Bulldog Cafè, on Boulevard Kukulcan, also known as "the house of rock", Dady Rock, also on Boulevard Kukulcan, Dady'O, located in front of the Forum Mall, Glazz, in the Hotelera area, Karamba, right in the centre, and the many bars and pubs located in the Plaza de Toros.
