Getting around Lagos

Tarkwa Bay beach is a great place to relax and enjoy the sea in the area, with its calm waters and relaxed atmosphere. Outside the centre of Lagos there are still many things to see such as, for example, the Lekki Conservation Centre reserve: a protected area where you can see the local fauna and flora up close.

Among the traditional dishes of Lagos, you cannot miss the famous jollof rice: a spicy rice dish bursting with flavor, often accompanied by chicken or fish. Delicious and nutritious, this dish is a classic example of sub-Saharan cuisine. There are several versions of the recipe, and the Nigerian one is worth trying. Other things to eat in Lagos include suya, skewers of spicy grilled meat, and pounded yam with egusi soup, made with meat and vegetables. Lagos cuisine also offers typical desserts such as puff-puff (fried balls of sweet dough). Lagos offers traditional drinks such as palm wine, a wine made from palm tree sap, and zobo, a refreshing drink made from hibiscus flowers.
