What to see
The first must-sees are in the old town of Rhodes with the Archaeological Museum, the Palace of the Grand Master and the nearby Acropolis. Then there's the new city full of shops and restaurants, with the Orthodox Cathedral and the stalls of the New Market. The island offers many other interesting options: the beautiful village of Lindos with its very ancient and beautifully preserved Acropolis; the Valley of the Butterflies, for the deepest immersion into nature; the amazing Thermal Baths of Kalithea.
The best beaches of Rhodes
There are numerous beaches scattered around the island, all amidst breath-taking natural settings. One of the best is Anthony Quinn Bay 15 kilometres from Rhodes, with rocky seabeds and deep green water; Faliraki Beach in the municipality of Kallithea offers opportunities to go snorkelling and enjoy other water sports; the beach of Lindos is perfect for families thanks to the shallow and calm waters; Prassonissi Beach is excellent for those who love windsurfing.
