Karpathos

Karpathos Airport (AOK) is located in the southern part of the island, about 14 km from the capital, Pigadia. Upon arrival, car rentals, taxis, and — during high season — some bus connections to the town center are available. A car is practically essential to explore the island: the main road runs along the east coast, but many beaches and villages can only be reached via narrow mountain roads. Alternatively, daily boats depart from Pigadia to reach beaches and the northern part of the island, including the inlets of Saria and Tristomo Bay.

Why it's worth booking a direct flight from Italy to Karpathos

Must-see in Karpathos

With the Economy Relax or Freedom fare, checked baggage is already included in the ticket price — in addition to carry-on baggage, which is always included: a useful detail if you're traveling to the island for a week and need a full-size suitcase. The allowance can be pooled among passengers on the same booking, making it convenient for families or groups. Seat Selection lets you choose where to sit onboard in advance: a window seat to enjoy views over the Dodecanese during descent is worth booking ahead. For travelers with a pet, Animals service outlines procedures, size limits, and conditions for transport in the hold, to be checked at the time of booking. Finally, the Family service is designed to make traveling with young children easier, with dedicated options from booking through boarding. Karpathos isn't in a hurry: the island waits exactly where you imagined it, between the sound of the sea and the silence of mountain villages.
