Mykonos

How to get around

Direct flights to Mykonos land at Mykonos Airport. An extensive network of buses connects the terminal to the main city centre, with a journey time of about 10 minutes. Renting a motorbike allows visitors to travel around freely, or those travelling with family can hire a car to experience a trip together. In addition to taxis, there are also the Gulet, a type of boat that carries passengers to the surrounding beaches.

Places of interest

Any visit to Mykonos must begin in the picturesque Little Venice. We also recommend that you spend an afternoon shopping in Matoyianni Street. Then admire the Orthodox church of Panagia Paraportiani, as well as the Armenistis Lighthouse and the characteristic Windmills in the area.

Best beaches

A prominent feature of Mykonos is the beaches. A short walk from the town of Chora, Megali Ammos features taverns full of delicious seafood dishes. Psarou Beach is characterised by its famous beach parties and transparent sea. Platis Gialos features many hotels and is fairly quiet, while Paranga Beach is valued by all the lovers of unspoilt nature.

Typical bars and restaurants

For visitors who want to immerse themselves in the social life of the island, we recommend the Paradise Club, characterised by nightlife without boundaries and a substantial cocktail menu. The best beach parties are organised by the Tropicana Beach Bar, while Cavo Paradiso is considered to be the most exclusive venue. Finally, for lovers of good music we recommend the Scandinavian Bar.
