How to get around Tenerife

Neos Air Flights to Tenerife land at Tenerife South - Reina. The entire island can be crossed on buses (also called guagua) and tranvías, which connect the airport to the rest of the island. Another convenient way to get around is to hire a car, but in many urban centres it's easier to get around on foot or by bicycle to make the most of the area's beauty.

What to visit in Tenerife

For those who love adventure and excursions Teide Volcano is perfect, and is one of the highest in Europe. You can admire the entire island from its peaks: a panorama that's not to be missed! For those who prefer not to climb all the way to the top, the entire Teide Park is a natural beauty to enjoy. The Pyramids of Guimar are also stunning; there is still mystery surrounding their origins. Architecture lovers will certainly want to visit the Auditorium of Tenerife, one of the most beautiful and unique structures on the island.

The best beaches in Tenerife

Tenerife is famous for its many beautiful beaches. One of these is El Medano, an immense unspoilt beach with a clear blue sea. The beautiful Playa de Abama also deserves mention: a small beach with golden sand and a very calm crystalline sea, thanks to an artificial barrier that makes it the ideal place to relax. Playa Fanabe is famous for water sports. Playa de la Tejita is protected by the Montaña Roja, a suggestive red mountain, and is ideal to visit for its splendid landscape.

Dining suggestions

Tenerife boasts excellent Spanish cuisine, which is clearly influenced by local ingredients: aloe vera comes from the Canaries, and is present in many meals and drinks. Its typical cuisine definitely should be sampled, obviously in restaurants managed by the locals!
