How to get around Lanzarote

Flights to Lanzarote land at Guacimeta Airport. The airport is well connected to the rest of the island thanks to frequent buses: lines 22 and 23 are very useful for reaching multiple points on the island in total comfort. The island's bus service is very efficient. Those who prefer can instead hire a car and get around the island autonomously as they like.

What to see in Lanzarote

As mentioned, Lanzarote is famous for its nature. Timanfaya National Park is one of the must-see destinations on this island, and offers you the chance to immerse yourself in a timeless place far from urban modernity. Bus tours are available for visiting the park's volcanoes, and even camel tours. Another beloved destination is Cueva de Los Verdes, a series of volcanic caves featuring evocative plays of light. Art lovers will appreciate the Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo, set up in a small fortress.

The best beaches of Lanzarote

The island is famous for its white sand beaches and crystal-clear sea. The most famous is Playa Bianca, an enchanting moor with a transparent sea. Playa de Papagayo is also quite beautiful; it is small and sheltered from the wind, with golden sand and a very clear sea. Playa de Famara is very large and exposed to the wind, which makes it perfect for surfers. Playa del Caleton Blanco has a postcard-like landscape with its white sand and water so clear you can see the bottom of the seabed. You will be spoilt for choice!

Dining suggestions

The cuisine of Lanzarote is simple and creative, suitable for all tastes. Exotic fruit grows in abundance on the island and should all be tasted, especially the products with an aloe vera base, which is typical of the Canaries and the main ingredient of many drinks.
