How to get around Amman

Flights to Jordan land in three international airports: the Queen Alia Airport, the King Hussein Airport and the Zarqua Airport. The closest airport to Amman is the one of Queen Alia. To reach the city you can take the bus, taxi or rent a car. Within the city you can move on foot, with yellow taxis or city buses, useful to reach the farthest points.

What to see in Amman

Amman has some must-see attractions to discover! The Citadel is one of the most important historical landmarks in Jordan: an ancient place that will leave you with awe. The history of this place is incredible, and the whole city offers archaeological sites of great historical value. The Temple of Hercules will amaze you with its majesty, as well as the Umayyad Palace and the ancient Byzantine church. Amman's Nymphaeum and Roman Theatre stand out among the urban buildings, and the Archaeological Museum will allow you to discover much about the history of the entire area. But there are plenty of wonders to discover in Amman: just take a walk and experience the history at every step, discover the shops and markets full of local handicrafts and, why not... go shopping! Mosques are another must-see in the city: new and modern, or small and old, they are still a must-see destination in the country. Their fine decorations will leave you amazed!
