The city has an efficient public transport system, with buses covering all the main attractions. Getting around Verona is also easy and pleasant on foot or by bicycle, thanks to the small size of the historic centre and the presence of numerous cycle paths. Where to eat

The cuisine of Verona is rich and varied, offering dishes that will delight even the most discerning palates. Traditional dishes not to be missed include risotto all'Amarone, prepared with the local red wine of the same name, and pastissada de caval: a horse stew cooked slowly with red wine and spices. Bigoli con le sarde del Garda is another typical dish made with pasta and sardines.

As far as desserts are concerned, pandoro, which originates from Verona, is a must, especially during the Christmas holidays. Another speciality is the torta delle rose, a leavened cake in the shape of roses, soft and fragrant. Don't miss the local wines, such as Valpolicella, Soave and, of course, Amarone, which you can taste in one of the many wine shops and cellars in the area.

Verona is a city that will win you over with its beauty, history and gastronomy. Stop at one of the many restaurants and trattorias for an authentic Veronese culinary experience and let yourself be carried away by the unique flavours of this fascinating city.
