Getting around Milan

Flights to Milan mainly land at the Malpensa International Airport, which is one of the most important airports in Italy. Since this is a busy airport, there are many means of transportation available to get to the city. The Malpensa Express train is one of the most popular ways to get to the city during the day, as well as the efficient shuttle service that is also available in the evening. Once you arrive in Milan, you'll find a very extensive rail network that can transport you from one side of the city to the other very quickly. The subway lines are also very popular with city residents. Another popular means of transportation is the streetcar, which also has great historical value in the city. Taking a ride on Milan's streetcars is a little experience to try!

Getting around Milan

There are so many things to see in Milan. One thing to see for sure is the evocative and majestic "Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci, which you can admire in the refectory of the convent near the sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie. A visit to the Duomo, the spectacular Cathedral of Milan, is a must! If you want to know its more modern side you can visit the Prada Foundation and admire the Bar Luce, designed by director Wes Anderson. A visit to the Castello Sforzesco, instead, will let you discover the oldest side of the city. You can walk through the streets of shopping and high fashion, discovering an exclusive world of color and elegance. But, as we mentioned, Milan is also an excellent starting point to visit the rest of Italy. In its large Central Station you can find high-speed trains that depart for many Italian destinations. In just a few hours you can arrive in Turin or Florence: even Rome is just a few hours away. A trip to Milan can become the first destination of an unforgettable journey to explore all of Italy!

Where to eat

Like many other Italian cities, Milan has its own culinary tradition. There are many restaurants that proudly carry on local traditions. Be sure to try the saffron risotto and the typical Milanese cutlet! But the multicultural nature of Milan will allow you to discover many delicacies from all over the world. A visit to Milan's little Chinatown will be the perfect opportunity to taste some new and delicious meals!
